Insurance 2030: Policies and partnerships for sustainable development
11 - 12 May 2015
Organised by UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance Initiative, UNEP Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System and Swiss Re
Location: Rüschlikon/Zurich, Switzerland
About the event
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Swiss Re, bringing together the Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI) and the Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System, co-hosted a Roundtable on Insurance 2030: Policies and partnerships for sustainable development in a year that offers an unprecedented opportunity to shape a sustainable future for all.
2015 is set to be a milestone year for the insurance industry and sustainable development. Government leaders, business and civil society will be gathering to make long-term commitments on disaster risk reduction (March), financing for development (July), the new Sustainable Development Goals through to 2030 (September) and climate change (December). Alongside this, G-20 governments and others are putting in place critical elements of the post-crisis framework in terms of financial stability and mobilising long-term finance. Now is the time to bring these agendas together.
