Senior IP Counsel, Swiss Re
Donatella Fiala studied law at the universities of Bern, Switzerland and Cardiff, UK and was admitted to the Swiss bar in 2005. Her doctorate thesis focuses on the relationship between intellectual property rights and competition law. She holds a postgraduate degree in copyright law from King’s College in London and she is a member of the board of AIPPI Switzerland.
Before joining Swiss Re as a Senior IP Counsel she worked in private practice advising Swiss and international clients on various aspects of commercial law, in particular intellectual property law, including brand and trademarks, domain name issues, copyright, patents and trade secrets, and related litigation. In her current role, she advises on how to protect and enforce Swiss Re's brand, reputation and innovation, and on how to be compliant with IP laws.
