China is increasingly active in offshore energy exploration and production both within its territorial waters and internationally. This marks a departure for its domestic energy producers, which historically looked for energy sources within its borders. Swiss Re has a global book of business in the offshore energy sector and its team has decades of experience both in the commercial energy and re/insurance sectors.

The Swiss Re Asia Offshore Energy Forum held in Shanghai on 27 May 2015 brought this experience directly to the Chinese market. Over 35 representatives from 13 Chinese domestic and global insurers attended the Forum.
