Kai is Partnerships Portfolio Lead at Swiss Re Institute, responsible for developing research collaboration strategy and R&D partnership initiatives across the Group.
Before joining Swiss Re in 2021, she had over 10 years of consulting experience facing public sector clients, especially the European Commission, as well as national governments and other international organsations. She was involved in bidding for and coordinating multi-themed and cross-border R&D initiatives, between 1 - 50 million EUR in budget size. In addition, she provided research and innovation policy recommendations to the European Commission and organised high-level intergovernmental policy dialogues on research between Europe and Asia.
Her education background is global: a B.A. degree from Shanghai International Studies University, China; a M.S.Ed degree from University of Pennsylvania, USA; and a second Master's degree at ETH Zürich in Advanced Technology in Switzerland, with a thesis focusing on green hydrogen.
She loves singing, dancing and rock climbing.
