Stephan Müller Head Engineering Product Centre CUO P&C Reinsurance

Stephan joined Swiss Re in January 1994 and was working as risk engineer for mainly refinery and petro-chemical risks, but also other kind of production industries, doing surveys worldwide and many desktop risk assessments. During his stay in Risk Engineering Services, he was trained as fire prevention engineer and was co-author of the Swiss Re publication about "Safety Culture". At the end of 2000, he changed in to the Engineering Underwriting department in Zurich. He was responsible for several markets worldwide, such as Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Italy, Middle East, Belgium, Luxemburg, UK and international London Broker Market. In 2010, he took over the responsibility for the Engineering client training courses. Since 2017, he is heading the team of underwriters doing referrals for the large Engineering risks.

Stephan holds a diploma in Chemistry and PHD in technical sciences of the Swiss Institute of Technology. Besides that, he achieved the title of a Production Engineer (Swiss Technical Association).
